Czech Airplane Perfume Atomizers c1920s-1930s
in the 1920s and 1930s, aviation was just starting to become more common, and more daring with such flying champions like Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhardt, the airplane itself lent itself to various forms of decor during the Art Deco period. As you can see in the following images, airplanes were also a part of perfume bottle decorations, whether having the bottle itself become the main body of the airplane or having the atomizer hardware itself the airplane.
1920s Czech atomizer, enameled glass, chromed metal fittings, original hose and ball. 7 1/2 in.

ARTYSE Figural Rose Porcelain Perfume Bottle with Brass Butterfly Atomizer
French Porcelain perfume bottle in the shape of a rose with cast brass butterfly atomizer, in fitted box. c. 1925. Marked "Artyse", a French manufacturer of atomizers, and "Made in France." Stands 4 1/4" tall.
La Depeche, 1926:
"Shown at the Foire de Lyon of 1926 - The Artyse Vaporizer, 16 rue d’Orleans, Neuilly-sur-Seine. A pleasant surprise was reserved for us at the Artyse stand which presented, among other new products, its latest creation. The "Artyse Vaporizer", a truly artistic and original design, represents a fully blossomed rose which is gleaned from a superb golden butterfly: a rose bud replaces the pear, always unsightly elsewhere. Please ask your perfumer to show it to you."

ZaSu Pitts and Devilbiss Perfume Atomizers c1932
ZaSu Pitts stars alongside Slim Summerville and Fifi D'Orsay in the 1932 film They Just Had To Get Married. On ZaSu's vanity table we can see several perfume bottles including two DeVilbiss Imperial Series bottles, also on the vanity are some jeweled Czech or Austrian flacons as well.
In this closeup of the photobelow, you can see she has her hands on one of the DeVilbiss Imperial atomizers and the other one is towards the back of the vanity along the mirror. Just before this bottle is a jeweled Czech perfume flacon. To the right we see a very tall atomizer, it is probably fromCzechoslovakia but has the French style hardware. A jeweled glass powder jar in in front of ZaSu.
