DeBans

I have also seen bottles with hardware marked Debans France, this is a very scarce name in the perfume world. The Debans Importing Corporation of New York imported perfume, perfume atomizers and novelty perfume bottles from France and Czechoslovakia.

The DeBans company also employed piston pump style travel atomizers. They introduced an R. Lalique atomizer to the American public in 1923 featuring nudes and another one in 1928 with a different design featuring a floral pattern. Another atomizer was made with glass by Saint Louis.

I also have seen a bottle that was manufactured by the American glassworks of Hawkes and retained its original factory label.

Debans was established around 1923-1924 by JM Debans, an importing company and sole distributor of Giraud Fils a French perfumes in the USA.

Debans was located at 1 West 34th Street, New York City. The company probably imported their hardware from France.

They also issued perfumes such as Jasmin, Le Charmant, Un Soir En Passant and Narcisse under their own name in 1924.

The Mam'sell Lulu is a Kewpie shaped perfume bottle and contained various Debans perfumes.
